Hot spots in the Seth-Naf-Gar Empire

Image
If you've been reading the Takamo Universe Blog from the beginning, you'll recall that I have mentioned Dale Hayes, one of our development team who passed away some time ago. Dale enjoyed playing Takamo and he also graciously wrote content for Takamo Universe. He is missed. Here are a couple of his pieces. The Hot Springs Spas on the desert planet Megan-5 The Hot Springs Spas on the desert planet Megan-5 is just the place for a family vacation! Soelian Twa

Image
The insignia is the Imperial symbol of the Soelian Twa Empire. Soelian Twa The arthropod Soelien Twa Empire joined the Grand Alliance in 3424 to halt the cybernetic scourge. Queen Soel the 42nd, the first leader in Soelien Twa history to sign a pact with an alien race, remarked at the charter signing ceremony that, “Every ton of ore we mine will be used to fight the cyborg threat.” The queen was true to her word. The Twa fought alongside Grand Alliance to the bitter end. The Soelian Twa despised cyborgs. They had begun fighting KoR cybers and Vorare Carnis clones from the start of the cyber rebellion.  Soelian Twa mining and ore fleets ranged as far south as the Presattan Empire, and they quickly encountered cyber raiders as KoR forces spread north and east out of the KoR cyber reserve during the first years of the rebellion. It wasn't long before Soelian Twa cruisers and destroyers escorting freighter convoys across the void of Watcher's Harbor r...

The Harvesting

Image
Grand Alliance Empires and Cyber Reserves (shown in bright green) Sacrifice "The sacrifice of the few is the salvation of all."  That was the rationale of Grand Alliance empires for the destruction of millions of inhabited worlds. It was first voiced by the Briddarri and after two centuries of relentless war, became the mantra of the alliance. The various cyborg production corporations that formed to do the deed were well aware of the cost in lives and integrity, but the overarching need for survival soothed their consciences, and the incalculable amount of revenue that would be gained, purged the shame from their souls.  Salvation Twelfth Legion The Briddarri secretly began research and marginally successful testing of cyborg technology soon after the Naplian invasion of the Baedecker starcluster in 2678. They designated the force of cyborgs they created as the Twelfth Legion. It was loosely based on Truppen technology collected after the retrea...

Estini and the Radnian Empire

Image
Estini The shipyard of Estini was an archaeological find of Radnian origin discovered in 2345 in Attel, in the starsystem of Namii, on the fifth planet. The shipyard was situated in the Estini subsurface starport adjacent the east bank of the Renan River, about 90 kilometers down-river (south) from the city of Estini. The entry portal to the starport was nearly six kilometers in diameter. Its position was three kilometers west of the remains of the sky-lift port of the ancient city of Inan. Before its discovery in 2345, tales of the grandeur of the Estini starport persisted for centuries after its abandonment. Local historiographers had repeatedly mentioned the presence of the structure. The origin of the word Estini is Radnian and it has been used to indicate a place where capital ships were built to for the Radnian Navy. The geographer Tusio Kastra mentioned the location, writing a description of a shipyard of Estini although he believed it was a Proto-naplia...

Terran Destiny in the Naplian Conflict

Image
Terran Destiny Forward to a political treatise Terran Destiny in the 28th Century   by Alabert Chiu, Ph.d., published by New Baltimore Collegium, Mary City, New Baltimore-3, Terran Republic, in 2679, at the beginning of the Terran war with Naplia. Forward Centuries ago the children of Terra were assured by their leaders that interstellar colonization would usher in an age of peace; a Pax Terra. The youth of our empire read the histories of the great wars with the conviction that organized society had evolved to a state of enlightenment. The solemn admonition of our rulers was that we would avoid entangling interstellar alliances and, because we were separated from alien races by the stellar void, peaceful exploration and expansion would become the natural occupation of the human race.  Indeed, what should we fear? Orion and the Columbia cluster would be ours. The whole of the Missian Nebula would become ours also, and our possessions would extend from Medra to...

Briddarri Operation Glimmer

Image
Hyperjump Mines Operation Glimmer was a military operation during the Naplian wars, in the Briddarri and Dresch theater of operations. Hyperjump capable smartmines were launched into starstream paths from the Dresch frontier into Naplia, to destroy transiting warships and transports. After several postponements insisted on by the Dresch government, fearful of Naplian retaliation, the operation commenced, as luck would have it, at the very time when the Naplian offensive along the Dresch and Audrian border began. The mines caused some damage and delay to Naplian starstream traffic and damaged starbases and orbital installations. Part of the plan was for Royal Briddarri stealthships to drop the mines into starstreams connected to Naplia’s Svenisch ally, but the speed of the campaign ended all hope of continuing operations.  Hesitation Despite the objections of the Dresch government, fearing Naplian reprisals against Dresch starstreams, the operation was planne...
