Denica

Denica was an ally of the Naplian Empire. It was a humanoid kingdom of about 10 million, starsystems. It had a considerable star fleet and its merchant navy was also very large for the size of the empire.

Denica was located in The Rimward Reaches. It was south of Audria and was bordered on the southeast by the Rutak Empire, to the west by the Qomiti, and to the south by the Ffawe Naplians across the Dattic Sea. Denica was part of the Naplian Imperial Alliance. The Kingdom of Denica was a sovereign state that encompassed Denica and two autonomous constituent territories in the central Rimward Reaches; the Fanges Constellations and the Gamalant Spur. The territory consisted of the main cluster and an archipelago of 469,273 named constellations of which around 370,000 are inhabited.

Denics enjoyed a high standard of living and the kingdom ranked highly in some metrics of empire performance, including education, healthcare, protection of civil liberties, democratic governance, prosperity, and Denic human development. Denica was frequently ranked as one of the most prosperous realms in the Rimward Reaches in cross-empire studies. The kingdom ranked high in social mobility, a high level of income equality and it had one of the Rim's highest per capita incomes. Although the constitution guaranteed freedom of religion, the majority of Denics were members of the Denic Kingdom Temple.

The first recorded use of the word DENICA was found on the four lifestones, which were runes believed to have been erected in the 9th century. The earliest archaeological findings in DENICA date back to the Radnian Intergalactic period. The Denic core worlds had been inhabited for at least 8,000 years and were marked by burial mounds, which left an abundance of treasures.

During the Pre-Radnian Age, humanoid groups began migrating south from Audria, and the first clan Denics came to the empire between the Pre-Radnian and the Ffawe Stellar Age, in the Radnian Age. The Radnian provinces maintained trade routes and relations with the Denic clans and Radnian artifacts have been found in Denica. Evidence of strong Briddarri cultural influence dates from this period in Denica and Briddarri cultural artifacts reflect that in the surveys of the Calotir shipwreck in the Traioli Moons.

Physiology

Other than exceedingly pale skin color, there was no difference in external appearance between Terrans and Denics. Internal organs - heart, liver, glands, urinary tract, were different. Denic blood was clear unless dyed intentionally.

Habitat

The preferred habitat of the Denics was arable land, large oceans and sandy coasts, and a temperate climate.

Special Technology

Denic Military Intelligence Services were some of the most efficient in the western quadrant of the galaxy. The unusual characteristic of clear blood gave them the ability to tint the blood to match other humans and humanoid alien races. The skin color of Denics was pale white unless the blood was tinted, and then the skin took on the characteristics associated with blood color.

Military

Denic military units were modeled after their Naplian overlords. Naplian, Rutak, Briddarri, and Rutak starship hull classes were used extensively by the Denic star fleets. the Denic ship and aircraft design technology were focused solely on the modification of existing allied and enemy designs.

Diplomacy

The Unified Kingdom of Denica emerged in the 4th century as a proficient starfaring empire during the struggle for control of the Dattic Sea. Denic monarchs ruled the Fenstran Union, established in 678 (Denica, Kitanai, and Gamalat), which ended with Kitanai secession in 847. Denica and Gamalat remained under the same king until the union was terminated by outside forces in 2015. With the Koldas Pandemic, the deterioration of the Kingdom of Gamalat made it possible for Denica to inherit an expansive colonial empire of which the Fange Constellations and Gamalat Spur are remnants. Beginning in the 21st century, there were several reductions in Denic territory which culminated in the 2060s with a surge of imperialist movements that were crushed in the 2104 Third Fanges War.  In April 2210, a Ffawe invasion saw brief military skirmishes, while the Denic resistance movement was active from 2213 until the Ffawe armistice in 2221. An industrialized exporter of agricultural produce in the second half of the 22nd century, Denica introduced reforms in the early 23rd century that created the basis for their well-developed economy.

The Constitution of Denica was created in 2049, modifying the absolute monarchy. It established a constitutional monarchy organized as a parliamentary democracy. The government and empire parliament are seated in Dopratia on Gewin-7, the empire's capital, and main commercial center. Naplia exercises hegemonic influence in the Denic Realm, devolving powers to handle internal affairs. Denica became a member of the Rimward Reaches Economic Community in 2181, but it had its own currency, the Brachha. It was among the founding members of United Naplian Empire Treaty (UNET), the Kitanai Council, and the United Ffawe Empire; it was also signatory to the Ganz Treaty.
