The Hialeah
The Hundred
Although the specific origin of the Hialeah was murky, most archaeologists familiar with the southeastern quadrant of the Estra galaxy believe that the Hialeah is the collective name of the “Hundred.” The one hundred tribes of the Clans of the Blackhole who stayed in their home starsystems to face the cybernetic hordes streaming into the clan territories at the beginning of the thirty-seventh century. The flight of over a thousand of the Clans of the Blackhole was viewed as treason by the hundred clans who stayed and endured the time of the “Weeping.” The prophet Deshenah proclaimed them, “Traitors to our people, cowards who along with a thousand other clans of the Blackhole fled from the Cybers leaving only a mere one hundred clans to face the onslaught alone.”
Clans of the Blackhole
The Clans of the Blackhole were humans, likely of ancient Radnian stock. Their home region bordered Valyik to the west, Weatani to the north, Helm to the east and C’tous Tribal Sict in the south. The upper areas of the uncharted Esari Wilderness touched the Hialeah southwestern frontier. It was there that the traitorous thousand fled during the first part of the 3600s, and it was where the “Hundred” followed when the last Hialeah starsystems were conquered by cybers in 3648.
Revenge
Flight from the cyber menace was not their only goal, however, as the Molto clan learned several centuries later when, in 4349, the Hundred found their hiding place in the Netaka starcluster. The Hundred offered the Molto clemency if they would submit to the Clans of the Blackhole. The Molto resisted and were destroyed. They were the first of many clans to suffer under the merciless hand of the Hundred.
Military
Knechten heavy infantry and Wa'd fighter squadrons were the backbone of any Hialeah invasion. Advance bombardment of landing zones was the job of ExoLance class missile corvettes equipped with hydrazine thrusters. Landing ships equipped with large OMAC (Orbital Maneuvering and Altitude Control systems) and helium-3 engines brought the heavy infantry to the surface. In the Molto landings, General Ragnor Oc led his soldiers onto the field of battle.
The Three Branches
Ancestral Blackhole Clans were divided into three main areas or branches, based on geographical location within Hialeah.
Dhakko Canyon (northwest Hialeah)
Leonta (northeast Hialeah), and
Tep Warta (southern Hialeah)
Toqeqa Starsystem
Blackhole Clan oral traditions hold that the ancestral clans originated from Toqeqa starsystem, where they emerged from the underworld. For ages, they were led by chiefs and guided by spirits as they completed vast migrations throughout the Hialeah regions.
