Western Rim Trade

By the beginning of the 28th century, ownership of Western Rim Trade had devolved to two families distantly related to the original Kallibur clan. The Babak family was ruthless and grasping while the Jabari's were generally honest and forthright. The Babak's owned 43% of Western Rim shares while the Jabari held 47%. the remaining shares were held by executive board members and various corporations. In most instances, the minority shareholders tended to follow the Jabari in matters affecting the company.
During the early 2700's, the Babaks managed to convince the minority shareholders of the importance of controlling all trade in the northern regions of the galaxy. This propelled the firm into direct conflict with the Molnsa Guild and it's associated lesser trade houses. The Jabari family managed to keep it from erupting into open warfare between the two great trade houses but just barely. The Jabari preferred the alternate goal of inducing Sokol Trade to become an associated lesser trade house of Western Rim, thereby creating an unbroken shipping lane stretching all the way from Westfall trade hub in the Rimward Reaches to Beneval Station, the Outer Rim Mining trade hub on the eastern edge of the galactic disk.

Of course, neither of these efforts was pleasing to the Molnsa Guild and there were a number of "brush" wars and other incidents along the east-west shipping lanes, including some nasty set to's in the Sensa Trade and Biha Clan territories. Serjaum deposits and trade treaties were bitterly contested, with the loss of many lives. Privateering and other malicious activities became more prevalent as well. It seemed that one could not go more than a few paces in any trade outpost without encountering an agent of the Molnsa Guild or Western Rim. These struggles continued unabated for centuries, even at the height of the cyber rebellion.

Stelltron, the other great trade house, was also in conflict with Western Rim in the 2700's. The struggle with Stelltron was for domination of the southern regions of the galaxy and had been going on well before the Babak-instigated fight with the Molnsa Trade Guild. The Stelltron-Western Rim dispute was officially settled at the end of the 28th century, with an agreement that left a majority of the trade in the southern half of the galaxy under Stelltron's dominance. Even so, there were a number of unfortunate incidents well after the ink on the agreement had dried.
Western Rim Trade (WRT) was Divided into thirty-three separate divisions. There were also four lesser trade houses that were closely associated with WRT and it had seven trade hubs positioned along main shipping lanes across the galaxy.
