Keme Hassun

KEME HASSUN "THE STONE"

Stelltron Intel Section Chief.

Aquian.

Keme Hassun was the Ramla's special envoy for the Stelltron Corporation and the ruthless head of the Stelltron Intel Section.

Early Life

Keme Hassun was born in 2599 on Merkhe-4, Klatisi Governorate, Aquia Imperium. His father was a farmer, and his mother, who was older than her husband, was descended from noble lineage. His father sent him to an Aquian government school on Heukule 6 in the Serent Sea. As a teen, Hassun attended Kaba Polytechnical School for Deep Space Mechanical Construction, graduating in 2629.

Midway through his time at Kaba, Hassun joined the Expansionist wing of the Imperialist Party and was active in counterintelligence activity in the Heukule starsystem during the bloody Bolka Revolution.

In 2651, Keme was tapped for the infamous DASKA, the 'All-Aquian Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution and Sabotage,' the secret police in charge of eliminating "enemies of the Imperium." Hassun became known for the violent methods he employed. By maneuvering Heukule-6 to succumb to centralized expansionist control, Hassun rose to the position of chairman of the Aquian Commission for Internal Affairs, in the region.

Hassun ingratiated himself with Stelltron Corporation leader Bolin Ramla by penning 'On the History of Stelltron Corporation in Aquia,' a propaganda treatise that fostered Stelltron's favorable status in the empire. Bucklan Publishing, the media division of Stelltron, serialized the book, bringing Hassun pan-empire recognition.

Under the Ramlas

Hassun's methods came to the attention of the Ramlas, who brought him to Bucklan Fells Station in 2668 and made him second in command of the Stelltron Intelligence Section. However, it wasn't long before the SIS head was out and Hassun was in as the leader of that agency. Hassun assisted the Ramlas in carrying out purges of corporate enemies of the Ramlas as he had done with opponents on Heukule-6. Hassun remained a favorite of the Ramlas by playing on their paranoia.

In 2675, the Ramlas appointed Hassun vice-president of SIS, and Hassun eventually joined the Board of Junior Directors. At the Ens Gulf Conference in 2676, the Ramlas jokingly introduced Hassun to Rutak ambassador Fralin Devella as "our Himmler," referring to the head of the notorious Terran Gestapo of twentieth century Earth (Sol 3).

Death and Legacy

Keme Hassun was shot by political rivals on December 23, 2753. After the Ramlas’ mysterious deaths earlier that year. Hassun had overestimated his power. He had billed himself as an anti-Ramla reformer and had begun recommending revisionist policies to the Stelltron Board of Directors.

Hassun appointed himself interim chairman of the board and at the director’s meeting later that month, Hassun declared that he viewed dual strategic alliances with both the Naplians and the Grand Alliance as beneficial for the corporation's economic growth. This didn't sit well with his erstwhile friends on the executive board, headed by Achak Nukpana. They had him removed from the board and detained by his own intelligence agents. He was tortured using the same brutal techniques he had developed while heading the agency. Achak Nukpana ordered that Hassun was to be executed. He was shot by Galil Roaton and Remen Whit a few hours later while eating breakfast in his cell at the Bucklan Fells SIS headquarters.
