Rise to Power
The Tenvestya Organized Crime Group also known as the Tenvessa was the largest and most powerful crime syndicate of the Rutak mafia. Other names of the gang were Tenves Brotherhood and Tenvest gang. It was a criminal organization that covered a large part of the Rimward Reaches.
The Tenvestya gang was founded in 2474 by Gerza Halik, a former ship’s steward who had gone to prison for theft. Based out of the Tenvestya City on Mantak-5, he recruited local youth as foot soldiers and masterminded spectacular local robberies to enhance the gang’s reputation amongst established criminals. Tenvestya City was strategically located near the Spertha Path, a high-volume shipping route leading to Preoun, and intersecting the Makada Trade Center, Mantak Starsystem's deep space trade port, as well as the Vinera Interstellar Spaceport. Controlling these transport hubs allowed the Tenvestya gang to muscle in on the grav-car import business. But in the early 2590s, the Tenves Brotherhood's dominance along the Spertha Path was challenged by the Preoun mafia. Together with the Terran mafia and other human mobs, the Tenvestya made an alliance to push the Preouns out. The violent clashes claimed thousands of lives. The most infamous encounter was a gun battle at the Kavarata Film Festival that killed sixty-one Preouns and fourteen Rutak.
Criminal mastermind Neit Ligemo had money laundering ties to the Tenvest. But a 2532 party at a Proq hotel, attended by Halik as well as Attel drug trafficker Rakur Gafim, was raided by Proq police who believed that they were planning to kill Ligemo. However, Neit Ligemo had been warned ahead of time. He did not attend the gathering, and he severed ties with the Brotherhood.
By the end of the 2530s, the Tenvestya gang had moved into banking, which enabled them to launder money and influence Rutak leaders.

Activities Outside Rutak
In the 2650s, the Tenvestya dispatched Yechy Navok to Bright’s City, Upper York Starsystem, in the Terran Republic, and Lamik Nedusso to Atlantia starsystem, Sovereign Worlds, to take control of the Rutak mob enterprises in Terra. The Terran StellarPol (TSP) was alerted to Navok's activities, and he was arrested and convicted of extortion, becoming the first Rutak mobster to be sentenced in the Terran Republic. While Navok failed, his counterpart Nedusso controlled Rutak organized crime in Atlantia and the surrounding starcluster for over 30 years. Nedusso had a firm grip on the entire starcluster, and he had an army of killers to do his bidding. Although not as large as the drug cartels of Lotharia that sent men to try and set up shop in the Atlantia region, Nedusso and his criminals outgunned the Lotharians and the local human gangs. The Tenvestya were also active in Ffawe Naplia, primarily using it as a base for money laundering. Although attempts to infiltrate Ffawe Naplia politics were countered by vigilant and brutal law enforcement elements.
Beginning in the 2700s, the organization was heavily involved in the interstellar red spice drug trade, with its links to Hosan Obelisk drug cartels brokered by the Terran mafia. Over the next thirteen centuries, Tenvestya enterprises in the Rimward Reaches included death squads, kidnap-extortion gangs, alien trafficking to Laterad slave markets, off-the-books gambling resorts, murder for hire, insurance fraud, protection rackets, bribery, counterfeiting, industrial espionage, and the occasional mercenary gig.
The Tenvestya survived the demise of the Rutak Empire by a little over fifty years. The Rutak collapsed under the weight of the cybernetic onslaught in 3975, but wherever there was a group of survivors, there was need of all manner of items which the few remaining Tenvestya were only too happy to provide, for a price. The last known Tenvestya redoubt was found and liquidated by a cybernetic task force in 4037.
